Why was I not asked to provide a verification code for some of my payments?

Not all transactions require a verification code (OTP/3DS) as it depends on the merchant's security settings, transaction amount, and risk assessment by the payment processor. Some possible reasons include:

  • Issuer and network policies: Visa and the issuing bank determine when 3DS authentication is required based on transaction risk analysis.
